Pupils at Matthew Arnold School off Cumnor Hill will be able to carry on using the 35A and 35B services.

Phil Southall, Oxford Bus Company (OBC) managing director, said: “Previously OBC was able to subsidise the cost of Matthew Arnold School buses by using buses on other services during the rest of the day, but this is no longer possible due to the impact of Covid-19. We appreciate this created a challenging situation, but the community has worked together to achieve an outcome that ensures a service can be maintained.”

A spokesperson for Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) said: “OCC is pleased the bus company and community have been able to work together to provide a service for these youngsters, and at a cost which matches that charged by the council for children without entitlement to free school transport.”
