A TRIO of aspiring medics walked 20 miles in a day to the John Radcliffe Hospital to raise money for the NHS on its 72nd birthday.

The teenagers Hannah Heus, Eloise Nelmes and Lottie Backhouse, aged 15 and 16, travelled from Blewbury, near Didcot, to the Headington site on Sunday.

They have raised £2,020, to tie in with the anniversary year.

"We were unable to do this through volunteering or going into work because of our age.

"So, we decided the best course of action would be to launch a fundraising campaign to say thanks to the NHS."
