Residents have defied the rainy weather to enjoy their first pints in pubs for months.
Multiple pubs are open welcoming back their customers with social distancing being the utmost priority.
There was a police presence in the town to keep things in check. Wetherspoons was packed and there has been plenty of noise coming from the pub.
MK’s has had to put out a sign before 4pm saying they were at capacity.
One resident said that everyone is adhering to social distancing rules.
“It’s marvellous to get out and about again in the pubs,” Ally Gilmour said.
“Everyone is adhering to the social distancing rules, and it’s just great to socialise again.
“The Derby Inn is my local, but I’ve been to MK’s today, then I’m getting a link to put in my watch.
“Pubs are community areas and it is good to see them open again.”
Plenty of people were in the barbers as well taking the first opportunity they can to get the trim they have wanted since March.
