A WOMAN who assaulted a petrol station worker before threatening police officers with a needle has been jailed.

Weronika Wojt had denied seven counts, all claimed to have taken place on December 11 last year in Oxford.

The 27-year-old of Weyland Road, Headington Quarry, Oxford went on to admit five counts.

Wojt pleaded guilty to assault by beating as well as two counts of assaulting an emergency worker - police constables.

She also admitted another count of having an article with a blade or point - the hypodermic needle in a syringe, as well a failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

Outlining the case at her sentencing hearing at Oxford Crown Court on Monday prosecutors said the first assault took place at Tesco Filling Station, Oxford Retail Park.

Wojt had driven there at about 3.30am in a Renault Megane for petrol but, unable to pay, she was asked to fill in forms at the station.

She went on to 'push' a member of staff over as she left.

Wojt drove off and was cornered by police at Marston Ferry Road shortly afterwards.

She went on to 'drive into' a police car hitting the offside bumper.

When officers approached her car she proceeded to make threats against them, and after she was arrested she was found to have a hypodermic needle in her possession.

She later refused to give a blood test.

Sentencing, Judge Maria Lamb jailed her for five months and eight days and she was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
