WE wish that Madison Dingle from Cumnor were wrong.
Nothing would make us happier than to say 'Madison Dingle is completely and utterly wrong!'
But she's right: sadly, it has taken her being hit by a car for a serious consultation on lowering the speed limit on Cumnor Hill to be launched.
That is despite some residents saying for years that the limit is too high.
Today, we urge our readers to back the lower speed limit plan.
We know some speed demons out there in their Ferraris will say they don't want to have to slow down, but quite frankly we don't care.
As Madison's mum Nichola says, the difference for a human between being hit by a car at 40mph and being hit at 30mph can be life and death.
This small change can make that whole part of Cumnor safer and more pleasant for the hundreds of people who live there, but it will also mean that all drivers can pass through at a safer speed and feel confident doing so.
We encourage all our readers to show their support for Madison and Cumnor online at consultations.oxfordshire.gov.uk
