THE #UKGrandOutDoorCafe campaign is aiming to safely restart the UK hospitality industry by transforming public spaces and streets into al fresco dining spaces while adhering to social distancing.
The plan is also requesting that musicians be allowed to entertain outside guests.
The campaign has been supported by industry leaders including Oakman Inns, which runs The Old Post Office in Wallingford, the Crown & Thistle in Abingdon and The Blue Boar in Witney.
The initiative is being led by The Piano Works founder Alan Lorrimer and people are being invited to show showing their support by visiting the website ukgsoc.org.

Another key focus of the campaign is on fundraising for food and drink vouchers for frontline heroes during the coronavirus lockdown.

It is aiming to raise £70,000 to show appreciation to key workers who have been keeping people safe during the pandemic.

The government has announced that July is a best-case scenario for restaurants, cafes and bars to reopen with physical distancing, but many venues could struggle to survive with reduced seating.

Real ale enthusiasts at the Oxford branch of CAMRA have called on the largest pub-owning companies to give landlords a rent holiday during the coronavirus lockdown or risk seeing pubs close.
Pubs, bars and restaurants were ordered to close on March 20.
