ANOTHER man has been arrested after a shooting in Oxford

On Thursday night, at around 11.15pm, a man was shot in the leg on Cowley Road in Littlemore prompting police to launch an attempted murder investigation. 

The victim, a man in his twenties, was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his abdomen and the back of his legs. Both injuries are thought to be life-changing. 

The latest arrest comes after police unleashed dawn time raids at homes on Outram Road and Harcourt Terrace. 

A man, aged 24, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm. 

He is still being questioned by police. 

Now the investigators are hoping to piece together more details about what happened that night.

They are asking anybody who saw a Silver Toyota Yaris (same car as pictured), a dark coloured hatchback and a dark coloured 4X4 driving racing down main roads towards Littlemore get in touch.

Police have previously arrested two men, aged 26 and 33, both from Oxford, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a firearm but they have been released with no further action.

The investigating officer, Detective Inspector James Mather of Oxford CID, said: "The investigation into this attempted murder is still moving at a faced pace. 

"We would specifically like to speak to anyone who saw three vehicles in the area at around 11pm.

"If you saw a silver Toyota Yaris, a dark coloured hatchback and a dark coloured 4x4, all traveling at speed from the Templars Square area of Oxford, along Cowley Road towards Littlemore, please get in touch."
