POST Offices across Oxfordshire are allowed to stay open as they have been categorised an essential service by the government during the coronavirus crisis.
There are 11,500 Post Office branches across the UK and most are run independently or on a franchise basis.
Branches are keen to remind customers that they are #StillopeninOxfordshire.
Among branches reminding customers that staff are ready to serve them is the St Giles Post Office in Woodstock Road, Oxford.

A spokeswoman for the store said: “I would like to get the word out that we are open for business providing full Post Office services as well all the essential groceries.
“We have had customers coming to us from afar to use the Post Office services and picking up groceries that are out of stock at the supermarkets.”
Post Office branches are being backed by the Oxford Mail’s #StillopeninOxfordshire, which is highlighting local businesses which are still open and trying to serve their customers while adhering to the guidelines of the government’s coronavirus restrictions.
There are no set hours for branches so it’s best to use the Post Office’s online branch finder tool to check the opening times of the nearest one.
Earlier this month Camelot executive director Matt Ridsdale called in at St Giles Post Office and presented a plaque to sub-postmistress Nadia Akhtar as the shop has raised over £250,000 for good causes over the past 10 years through the sales of National Lottery tickets.
