WATERSTONES has become the latest high street name to announce it will close to help curb the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.

The book retailer, which has a store on Oxford's Broad Street, will shut its doors by the end of tomorrow.

A company representative said: "To help prevent spread of the Coronavirus, and to protect the wellbeing of our customers and staff, sadly Waterstones will temporarily close its doors by the close of trade Monday 23 March until further notice.

"Please check waterstones.com for additional information."

The news comes after several other retailers said they would temporarily close, including Primark and John Lewis.
