A MAN who beat a woman and damaged her property is due to be sentenced today.

Jack Reynolds admitted last month one count of assault by beating and another count of causing criminal damage to property.

The 28-year-old of Horns Lane, Combe, West Oxfordshire, assaulted the woman on November 30 in Chipping Norton.

He also damaged a light switch to a value unknown belonging to the same woman.

The case was adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report ahead of his sentencing.

That report, by the National Probation Service, will explore all sentencing options.

He is set to appear again at Oxford Magistrates' Court today for his final sentencing hearing.

The assault by beating charge carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison and an unlimited fine and criminal damage is an 'either-way' matter.
