A MAN who stole hundreds of pounds of alcohol from a city Tesco is set to be sentenced today.

Zywai Nyahoda has already admitted 11 counts of theft from a shop.

The 30-year-old of Kimmeridge Road, Cumnor, preyed on the Tesco store on Oxford's Cowley Road during his spree of thefts.

He carried out the string of crimes between October last year and January this year.

In each theft he stole alcohol and the total value of goods he stole during the course of the shoplifting was £639.20.

Nyahoda admitted all of the offences on February 14 and the case was adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

That report by the National Probation Service explores all sentencing options.

He is now set to be sentenced for all of the 11 counts that he faces today at Oxford Magistrates' Court.
