A DRUG dealer caught peddling cocaine in West Oxfordshire has been told to expect a 'lengthy' jail term after admitting the offence.

Che Tannock appeared at Oxford Crown Court today facing one count of being concerned in supplying to another class A drugs.

The 23-year-old of Queens Close, Carterton pleaded guilty to the charge and to dealing drugs between July 27 2017 and May 7 2018.

The offence took place in the Witney area.

After pleading guilty to the single count his defence barrister Giles Morrison asked the court to order a pre-sentence report before sentencing Tannock.

He said that his client had suffered family bereavements and was 'extremely remorseful' for what he had done.

He added that ahead of the hearing and while subject to an electronic tag he had 'kept out of trouble and not breached conditions.'

Presiding Judge Peter Ross agreed to order a report and to sentence Tannock at a later date.

He told him: "You are likely now to be facing a lengthy custodial sentence.

"You have committed offences while on bail or subject to investigation.

"You have been dealing in drugs for a considerable length of time."

He said he would adjourn his final sentencing so that a pre-sentence report can be prepared.

That report by the National Probation Service will explore all sentencing options.

At the end of the hearing Tannock was remanded in custody to await the hearing which will be held at the same court on April 7.
