PLANS for new homes, a school and a new civic hall will be discussed at an annual village assembly.

Residents of Long Wittenham near Didcot are invited to join the parish meeting next Thursday.

The yearly gathering serves as an opportunity to hear from the parish council chairman, county and district councillors, community groups and other organisations in the village about their activities during the past 12 months and plans for next year.

There will also be reports on the latest position on the revised Neighbourhood Development Plan for Long Wittenham and the proposed village hub which includes a new school, pre-school, village hall and new homes on land off Didcot Road.

Villagers were recently warned that Vanderbilt Homes' plans for 36 homes on Didcot Road could cause months of traffic problems.

The annual assembly will be held in the village hall from 7.30pm on Thursday, March 12.
