A VILLAGE community group is set to take to the stage to perform a pantomime in an Oxfordshire town today.  

In its 34th year, Launton Village Players is performing The Snow Queen at the Cooper School in Bicester, scripted by Launton resident, Julia West.

The 47-strong cast includes adults and children as well as a live band of four musicians.

The group performed its preview show on Wednesday with an audience from the Otmoor Guides groups and front of house staff and invited members.

The Snow Queen is based on the story by Hans Christian Anderson and Ms West has created a magical tale with all the ingredients of a traditional panto.

More performances continue today and tomorrow at 2.30pm with evening shows at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from Coles Books in Bicester, and The Bull Inn in Launton.
