RESIDENTS of an Oxford flat had a lucky escape after a candle caused a fire.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, in a post on social media today, said crews from Rewley Road Fire Station attended 'in the early hours' of this morning.
Firefighters found the top floor flat smoke-filled but those inside were not injured.

The post, which did not say where the flat was, said crews 'quickly put the fire out and stopped it spreading further', adding: "Using candles is safe so long as we take precautions, these include never leaving them unattended, that they are placed in a suitable holder and properly extinguished when you have finished using them."
