JADE O'Dowda claimed long jump gold by just two centimetres at the 2020 BUCS Indoor Championships in Sheffield yesterday.
The Oxford City athlete, who is studying at Sheffield Hallam University, was second before her final attempt, but jumped 6.16metres to take the title ahead of Brunel University's Simona Simeonova.
Her first jump of 6.05m had looked enough for victory, before Simeonova set a distance of 6.14m with her third effort.
It marked another stage of O'Dowda's comeback from injury, which required surgery and a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
