STORM Dennis has forced a wildlife trust to cancel a park event due to safety concerns.

Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) was set to run its monthly Wild Oxford meet-up at Raleigh Park this Saturday.

An organiser wrote to volunteers this morning confirming that it would have to cancel, due to the forecast of heavy rain and strong winds.

The email added that 'we cannot put anyone at any unnecessary risk'.

Raleigh Park, situated on the border of Botley and North Hinksey, welcomes volunteers from the trust every month for conservation tasks.
