ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Lester Bennett, 18, of Reids Piece, Purton, will face a crown court judge over claims he damaged a caravan’s windows and assaulted a man.

Appearing before magistrates, Bennett entered no pleas to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage. The incidents are alleged to have taken place in Royal Wootton Bassett on August 29.

He was bailed to appear before the crown court for a plea hearing on January 10.

SWINDON: Tobias Friend, 19, of Ansom Road, Worthing, has been charged with raping a 15-year-old girl in Swindon in December 2018.

He entered no pleas and was bailed to appear before Swindon Crown Court on January 10 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

STRATTON: Kyle Milsom, 40, of Ermin Street, admitted two counts of assault by beating. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge on one of the charges and ordered to do 60 hours of unpaid work as reparation for the other assault.

Milsom must pay £150 compensation and costs of £35.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: A dog that had previously bitten a postman will be destroyed by order of the Swindon magistrates after it bit a woman.

Coco, Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, attacked the woman on Queens Road in Royal Wootton Bassett on July 27.

Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court, Dominic Sturgess, 34, of Saffron Close, admitted being the owner of a dog that was dangerously out of control.

Magistrates ordered that the dog was destroyed, saying it was a danger to public safety and that it had previously bitten a postman.

He was ordered to pay £100 compensation.

MINETY: Pervert John Wood, 42, of Station Road, Minety, admitted six counts of voyeurism and two counts of hacking 45 computers.

Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court, Wood pleaded guilty to recording another person doing a private act with the intention that he would get sexual gratification. The allegations range in time between 2011 and 2015 and took place in Swindon, Minehead and Warminster.

He was granted unconditional bail to appear before Swindon Crown Court to be sentenced on January 10.

SWINDON: Andrew Woolley, 41, of Southill, Bedfordshire, denies careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident on The Mall, Old Town.

He was granted unconditional bail for the trial on March 16.

OLD TOWN: A pair will face a crown court judge over allegations they assaulted a man.

Ben Willison, 27, of Tunnicliffe Close, and a 17-year-old boy from East Wichel, who cannot be named because he is under-18, have been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

They entered no pleas and were both granted unconditional bail to appear before Swindon Crown Court on January 10.

NYTHE: Steven Beeton, 34, of Nyland Road, pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol and groceries from Tesco.

He was fined £60 and ordered to pay £117 in costs and compensation.

HIGHWORTH: Margaretha Brown, 43, of Vorda Road, pleaded guilty to drink-driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Brown was behind the wheel of a Honda Civic on October 31 when she crashed into a Citroen Picasso on Henley Drive, Highworth. Breathalyser tests showed she had 93 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

She was fined £300, banned from driving for 23 months and ordered to pay £117 in costs and surcharge.

HIGHWORTH: Natalie Brown, 20, of Vorda Road, drove the same Honda Civic and on the same road and night as Margaretha Brown.

The younger woman was twice over the drink drive limit, uninsured and had no licence. She admitted failing to stop after crashing into a Vauxhall Corsa on Henley Drive.

Brown junior pleaded guilty to drink driving, failing to stop at the scene of a crash and driving whilst uninsured and without a licence.

She was fined £426, banned from driving for 19 months and ordered to pay £117 in costs and surcharge.
