A WOMAN caught with a haul of drugs that she was 'a custodian' for has been jailed.

Melissa Cuff appeared via videolink at Oxford Crown Court yesterday.

The 28-year-old of Bullingdon Road, Oxford pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs - cocaine and heroin.

Prosecutor Jonathan Stone said the offences both took place on November 23 last year at Cowley Road, Oxford.

Police stopped her at about 6.30pm and after her arrest she was found to have a haul of drugs in her underwear.

That cache was made up of 56 wraps of cocaine and 20 wraps of heroin.

The street value of the drugs was estimated to be up to £760.

Prosecutors also read out her 'basis of plea' which was accepted and said she was going to give the drugs back, and was not selling them directly to customers.

In mitigation her defence team said that she had no previous convictions and argued that she had no intention of supplying the drugs on 'any commercial basis.'

Sentencing, Judge Nigel Daly said: "You had been asked to hold on to those drugs for a short period and return them to the man who asked you to hold them.

"Nonetheless it still amounts to possession with intent to supply."

She was jailed for a total of 12 months and she must pay a statutory victim surcharge.
