ROSE Hill Community Centre in Oxford is celebrating the festive season with a Christmas-themed open mic session.

It will take place on Monday in the social club at the estate’s community centre in Carole’s Way, with doors opening at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

Elizabeth Couves, community assistant at Rose Hill Community Centre, said: “Join us for a Christmassy version of our monthly open mic.

“As always we expect to see some great talent on show, and we’d love to see new faces come and join us.

"If you’re not a performer come and enjoy the show and get into the Christmas spirit with us. Look forward to mince pies, Christmas vibes and a few Christmas songs and poems. But don’t worry, you don’t have to do a Christmas song.”

People are invited to perform their song, rap, poem, comedy routine, dance or live art in front of a friendly and supportive audience at the social club.

The event is family friendly and free to attend, though donations are welcome.

Singers will have 10-minute performance slots.
