OXFORD Hawks came from behind to stun Investec Women’s Conference West leaders Surbiton 2nd.

Despite trailing 2-1, the home side hit back for a superb 3-2 success.

Hawks went ahead through an Emily Smith strike in the third minute.

But the table-toppers levelled before the break and went ahead in the second half.

Caro Harris equalised from a short corner and Hawks won it when Smith fed Sam Jacobs to slot home.

Witney lost 3-1 at Maidenhead in South League Division 1.

After falling behind early on, Sadie Lapper converted from a Hayley Dobson short corner.

However, the hosts went back in front early in the second period and sealed the points late on.

Amelia Baron bagged a double as Oxford got back to winning ways in Division 2.

After suffering a first defeat a week earlier, the home side hit back with a 5-0 win over Amersham & Chalfont, with Emily Malden, Jemima Gibbs and Kim Warman also on target.

Oxford Hawks salvaged a point with a late equaliser in a 1-1 home draw with Havant in Division 1 South.

Despite dominating most of the game, they found visiting keeper, Polish international Manciej Pacanowski, in superb form.

Hawks’ profligacy in front of goal was punished early in the second quarter when Havant opened the scoring with a tap in from close range.

But they rescued a point late on when Ted Bennett’s shot was saved and Charlie Neat netted the rebound.

Oxford OBU suffered a first defeat of the season when they went down 2-1 at Surbiton in South League Premier Division 2 West.

Matt McKeown levelled early in the second half, but the hosts snatched victory late on.

Oxford Hawks 2nd lost 6-4 at home to Reading in MBBO Division 1.

Freddie Smith (2), Laurie Cooke and Henry Taylor netted.

Witney went down 2-0 at Ashford.

Despite some fine saves from Arthur Jones, the hosts scored in each half to take the points.
