A NEW Sainsbury’s Local store is expected to open in Frideswide Square this week.
The new store, on the ground floor of the Royal Oxford Hotel, will open on Thursday, according to signs up outside.
The mini-supermarket was due to open last Thursday but the opening date was then postponed for a week as work needed to be finished.

A spokeswoman for the chain said it had taking slightly longer than expected for contractors to fit out the store.
The Sainsbury’s outlet will provide competition for the M&S at Oxford railway station.
Contractors started working on site at the beginning of October.
