A CENTRE providing cancer treatment in Oxford has been praised by a national health watchdog, with inspectors calling its care 'outstanding'.
GenesisCare, which offers chemotherapy, radiotherapy, diagnostic imaging and outpatient consultations, was visited by the Care Quality Commission in September.
The private clinic, which opened five years ago, was given an overall top rating of 'outstanding'.
A report produced following the inspection stated there was a 'genuinely open culture' in which all safety concerns raised by staff and people who used the service were 'highly valued as being integral to learning and improvement'.

It added: "People were respected and valued as individuals and were empowered as partners in their care, practically and emotionally, by an exceptional and distinctive service."
The report said feedback from people who use the service was 'continually positive' about the way staff treat people.
It explained: "People told us that staff went the extra mile and their care and support exceeded their expectations."
The Sandy Lane West centre had between June 2018 to May 2019, 3,458 outpatient attendances.
