THE Westgate Centre is supporting Purple Tuesday – the UK’s accessible shopping day – by inviting people to share their experiences and chat to leading companies.

Purple Tuesday, which is co-ordinated by disability organisation Purple, aims to raise awareness of the customer experience for people with disabilities and the value and needs of disabled shoppers.

Westgate Oxford will tomorrow welcome a range of companies to Leiden Square for drop-in sessions to discuss services available, including OXSRAD sports centre, Oxford Bus Company, Stagecoach in Oxfordshire, Oxfam, Royal Cars, John Lewis and the Department of Work and Pensions.

“We’re proud to support the Purple Tuesday initiative once again, inviting local organisations to talk directly to visitors about the services and support they provide for people with disabilities, whilst getting valuable feedback from consumers.

“We’re keen to shine a light on some of the fantastic services and support networks available, and we will also offer free parking for anyone using the Westgate mobility scooter service on Purple Tuesday, with no limit on time.”

Westgate Oxford’s Purple Tuesday drop-in sessions will take place at Leiden Square throughout the day.
