TEMPORARY traffic lights are due to resume in Oxford's busy Botley Road tomorrow morning.

Disruptive roadworks carried out by SGN gas company, which started in July, were not in action on Friday afternoon, Saturday, Sunday or today.

The Oxford Mail understands that this was due to the funeral procession for PC Andrew Harper today, which was expected to bring in many motorists to pay their respects.

An SGN spokesman confirmed that the works are scheduled to start up again at about 9.30am tomorrow.

Last month, the company revealed that the project, which is taking place near Osney Bridge, could continue until Christmas.
