THE family of PC Andrew Harper have requested that there are no flowers at his funeral on Monday.

Thames Valley Police said that nobody - including members of the public or mourners - should bring flowers to Oxford City Centre or to the cathedral.

The force have said that no flowers should be thrown at the cortege at any point along the procession through town, on route to Christ Church Cathedral - where a private funeral will be held for the police officer at 11am.

Police have announced road closures that will be in place on Monday morning.

Instead of flowers the family have chosen two charities where money can be donated to.

They are the Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital and the Blue Cross Rehoming Centre.

Barriers will be in place around town so that members of the public can watch the procession.

After the church service there will be a private cremation and wake for family members only.

Thames Valley Police said there will be a 'large police presence'.
