A CAFE in Oxford city centre appears to have closed for good with no sign of it reopening.

For several weeks Ratio Cafe in George Street has not been trading, but there are no notices on the door to indicate if the owners are away or whether the business could relaunch in future.

The cafe was opened early in 2018 by Arthur Vissing and his wife Ezgi.

The cafe sold coffee sourced from Bath-based Round Hill Roastery and homemade cakes from the cafe’s kitchen.

Google's business search tool lists the business as being 'permanently closed'.

Companies House records for Oxford-based Ratio F&B Limited, of which Mr Vissing is listed as cafe proprietor, document that the company was 'dissolved via compulsory strike-off' on Tuesday.

There were five full-time staff and five part-time staff at the café next to Franco Manca pizza restaurant and it was open seven days a week.

Mr Vissing said in 2018 he had made a considerable investment in the business, taking out a 15-year lease and before it closed it was often busy.
