A CHARITY best known for its high-street bargain shops is appealing for help and workers for one of its bases in the city.

Barnado's Viking House in Headington is a respite care centre which also offers sitter services and support to families with disabled children.

The roles are for a project worker and an 'as and when' residential support worker – which will both be positions based in the Oxford suburb house.

The roles will be slotted into the wider team, who look after children with disabilities.

The project worker will be responsible for link working with the children and young people as well as their families.

The 'as and when worker' will help play and care for the children and young people whilst giving support to the families who need it.

Lesley Bishop, Children’s Services Manager at Viking House, said: “The children we work with are just fantastic and it really is a privilege to work at Viking House. If anyone is interested to find out more, I would encourage them to get in touch.

"It is a great team and everyone finds it really rewarding working here.”

Training will be given to the perfect candidate who will be 'flexible' and have a sense of humour.
