MORE than 1,000 people are set to descend on South Park today for the second annual Oxford Pretty Muddy fun run.

Challengers of all ages will take on the 5km or 10km obstacle course which involves being spattered with mud and crawling through dirty water for charity.

A total of 1,400 people have paid to take part from 10am onwards, aiming to raise a total of £90,700 for Cancer Research UK.

The charity's Oxford race organiser Sophie Heath said: “We are very grateful to everyone taking part and this year, this just wouldn’t be possible either without our volunteers who turn out rain or shine.

"It is one of the most uplifting experiences to take part and get involved.

“The obstacle course promises plenty of fun, thrills and spills and we hope children and adults will take on the challenge."
