SUDBURY House Hotel in Faringdon has announced plans to launch a luxury spa – the first in the area.

Vale of White Horse District Council has approved plans for the spa, which will have a covered connection to the existing hotel facilities and will feature swimming and vitality pools, sauna and steam facilities, six treatment rooms, lounge and dining area, and a state-of-the-art gym. It will be open to local residents, members and guests of the hotel.

A spokesman for the hotel said 'numerous employment opportunities' are expected to be created, with local residents the key target for recruitment. It is expected to be completed in late 2020.

Plans to launch the new luxury spa come soon after a food and beverage transformation at the hotel, where MasterChef the Professionals finalist Nick Bennett has revamped the menu at the two-AA-rosette modern British restaurant Magnolia, as well as the hotel’s second dining experience Restaurant 56.

The new addition is expected to help generate increased tourism to the region, which already attracts visitors to the market town of Faringdon and the nearby Cotswolds area.

Ronan Hunter, general manager, Sudbury House Hotel, said: “We are really excited about the launch of the spa and we are confident that it will be really popular with the local market as well as visitors to the area.
