A 19-YEAR-OLD has been ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work after being found with a machete in Oxford.

Isaac Saxton, of Bodley Road, Oxford, admitted one count of possessing a weapon without good reason or lawful authority at Oxford Magistrates Court on June 4.

He was stopped near a primary school and sports centre in Marsh Lane, Marston, on April 20.

The information comes from a court report which did not indicate that Saxton was any threat to the public or that he was using the machete in a dangerous way at the time.

He must also pay a £85 victim surcharge and £85 court costs, according to court documents.

A community order dictated Saxton must do the work within the next 12 months.

The machete has since been destroyed.
