OXFORD Central Pure Gym will do its bit in a national relay which has so far raised more than £260,000 for charity.

The chain is undertaking a nationwide initiative to do a seven day, 24 hour relay with 235 Pure gyms, finishing on Monday.

Clubs from Aberdeen to Plymouth are involved in the 3,000km challenge, with Oxford's team cycling 42km to Buckingham on Saturday, at 2.06pm. Coupled with the Cowley gym it has locally raised around £1,700 so far for Mental Health UK.

Gym manager Hollie Randall said: "As clubs we have been going above and beyond, doing charity classes, member challenges, 24 hours spin challenges to raise at much money as possible for a charity."
