OXFORD author Mick Herron is to speak about his new spy novel at Blackwell’s Westgate Centre store.

He will be at the bookshop on Thursday at 7pm to discuss his latest Jackson Lamb novel Joe Country.

The author will be in conversation with Lucy Atkins, author of The Night Visitor, about his books, crime and spy novels.

There will be an opportunity for the audience to put their questions and the event will be followed by a book signing session.

Mr Herron’s first Jackson Lamb novel, Slow Horses, was shortlisted for the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger and picked as one of the best 20 spy novels of all time by the Daily Telegraph.

The second, Dead Lions, won the 2013 CWA Goldsboro Gold Dagger. The third, Real Tigers, was shortlisted for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year. Mr Herron was born in Newcastle. Tickets cost £5.
