A FUNDING windfall is winging its way to Oxford homeless charity Emmaus Oxford.
The charity will get £1,000 towards its efforts helping people out of homelessness and into housing and work.
The money has been dished out by housebuilder Cala Homes as part of its community bursary scheme.
It was launched by the housebuilder to in February for charities or community groups to apply for a share of £15,000 to help fund projects that make a difference within the community in Oxfordshire.
Emmaus Oxford was chosen as a recipient, with money going towards funding a weekly soup kitchen.
Eddie Blaze, Emmaus Oxford general manager, said: “We are thrilled. This donation will go a long way towards supporting our soup kitchen.
"It’s great to be able to run a meal centre within the community every week for homeless and vulnerable people, and our companions gain a lot of confidence from helping others."
