RESIDENTS in Oxford are being encouraged to recycle their old clothes and unwanted items at Oxford Town Hall.

The free Oxfordshire Reuses event, which is taking place on Sunday, from noon to 3pm in Oxford Town Hall, comes at the end of Oxford Green Week.

It will allow residents to give their clothes and household goods a new lease of life.

The zero waste event will feature a repair café for electrical goods, clothing and furniture that could be fixed by volunteers, a clothes ‘swish’ to swap clothes and accessories, a swap shop, fun workshops for children and a variety of stalls.

There will also be a food surplus café, with cakes and snacks supplied by Rose Hill Junior Youth Club, featuring food that would have otherwise gone to waste which has been rescued by FareShare.
