THIS young shopper got the chance to get a closer look at the wonderful world of plants as part of a day's activities in the Westgate Centre.
Experts from Oxford University's Botanic Garden and the department of plant sciences were on hand to guide guests through the amazing power of plants at the pop-up stand on Saturday.
Youngsters had the chance to meet some of the world’s rarest plants and search through seeds for something they'd like to plant at home.
Researchers helped them understand the science behind the processes that help things grow.
It was the latest in a number of activities run by the the Botanic Garden to help people discover their collections and research.
On Saturday, the garden in Rose Lane will open up for a family open day and exhibition launch.
Artwork created by children and staff at Rose Hill, Bayards Hill and Wood Farm Primary Schools will be shown before it moves to a longer exhibition at East Oxford's Fusion Arts until June 18.
As part of the Story Makers project, the children have been creating paintings and drawings inspired by the garden's plant collections.
Their work explores the relationships between different plants and the relationships between plants and humans.
To celebrate the launch of the Stories in the Garden exhibition, Saturday's open day will feature refreshments and art activities.
Both exhibitions are open to the public and free of charge, aside from the general admission ticket for the Botanic Garden.
