A BOY arrested in connection with a sex attack in a village park has been bailed again until next month.

The 16-year-old was arrested following an attempted rape in Park Hill Recreation Ground in Kidlington, on the night of February 15.

A 21-year-old woman managed to escape her attacker's clutches before he was able to rape her, and fled via an alleyway towards Wise Avenue.

Days afterwards Thames Valley Police issued a witness appeal before revealing that the teenager had been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and sexual assault.

He was initially granted bail until last Friday but today the force confirmed he had been re-bailed until Friday, May 17.

The force clarified that no charges have been made yet in relation to the case.

The victim has been walking in the park, off Benmead Road, between about 8.30pm and 9.35pm.

Police said she was approached by a ‘young male’ who attempted to rape her before she managed to get away.

The park is home to a children's playground as well as a nursery.
