LOCAL businesses and groups are being encouraged to get involved in Oxford Green Week 2019.

Applications are now open for organisations to book a stall at Oxford’s Big Green Day Out, or to host an event during the city-wide festival.

Now in its sixth year, the event celebrates sustainability and aims to inspire people to take action against climate change.

This year's festival will kick off on Saturday, June 8, with Oxford’s Big Green Day Out – a family friendly event on Broad Street, with events and activities taking place every day until June 16.

The theme for the 2019 festival is One Planet Living.

Last year, Oxford Green Week saw over 70 pop up events take place across the county, with about 25,000 people attending Oxford’s Big Green Day Out.

The deadline for submissions for Oxford Green Week events is on Friday 31 May.

Volunteers are also wanted to help out throughout the week.
