A MAN charged after an alleged city centre shooting is expected to begin his trial today.

Duncan Shearman, 24, of Paradise Square in Oxford, faces one count of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and three counts of possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid or gas.

It relates to an alleged shooting incident at Paradise Square in May.

He has not yet entered a formal plea but a provisional trial date was set by Oxford Crown Court in November.
