A CYCLIST has complained of broken glass and abandoned trolleys in an Oxford underpass.

An anonymous report was lodged on FixMyStreet problem-reporting website this morning, raising concerns about a path that cuts beneath the Eastern Bypass in Littlemore.

It said: "There is frequently glass under the bypass by the school and along the whole cycle path all the way up to Aldi from the Littlemore bypass.

"I have punctured my tyre twice in four months. There are also several trolleys left in the middle of the path."

Oxfordshire County Council told the cyclist that its team had been notified and asked to remove the glass.

Last week a separate complaint about the same cycle path, also logged on the website, said: "A large pothole has appeared in the last section of road before the white barrier leading to the cycle lane/footpath next to the Eastern Bypass.

"The pothole cannot be seen in darkness due to lack of street lighting in this area, [it is] very easy for a cyclist to hit the pothole."

The county council responded, stating the pothole had been actioned to be fixed.
