EMPLOYMENT charity Aspire Oxford is calling for people to help rough sleepers by supporting its Christmas appeal called No Place Like Home.
This year, hundreds of people across Oxfordshire are at risk of homelessness, or are already sleeping rough.
Aspire’s Christmas Appeal is set to raise vital funds that will help vulnerable people build the skills they need to protect them from becoming homeless in the first place, as well as providing housing and employment support to rough sleepers.
Specialist support will help to ensure that the people Aspire work with are able to break the complex cycle of homelessness for good.
Charity bosses also want to make sure that everyone who needs help throughout the year has a Christmas gift to open.
Aspire’s clients are often living in poverty and too frequently have to choose between paying their bills, buying food or buying Christmas gifts.
Paul Roberts, CEO of Aspire, said: “Aspire are proud to be stepping up and doing more than ever before to tackle our community’s growing homeless crisis. Our No Place like Home Appeal will help to ensure that we can keep vulnerable local people in their homes this Christmas and provide a lifeline of support for rough sleepers. People can make a donation, fundraise or buy a small gift."
