VOTERS in Wheatley will elect a new county councillor today.
Following the resignation of county councillor Dr Kirsten Johnson, a by-election is being held with polls open from 7am until 10pm.
Three candidates are contesting the election including Tim Bearder for the Liberal Democrats, Michael Nixon for Labour and John Patrick Walsh for the Conservatives.
The ward boundaries cover surrounding villages including Horspath, Cuddesdon, Tiddington, Holton, Stanton St John, Forest Hill and Beckley and 10 polling stations are being set up to ensure voters have the chance to vote.
