OXFORDSHIRE had the coldest temperatures in the country on Wednesday night as frosts took hold.
Minus six degrees Celsius was recorded in South Newington, between Banbury and Chipping Norton.
It was minus 4.8 degrees at the Met Office station in Benson first thing in the morning on one of the coldest nights yet so far this autumn.

The good news for early risers is that temperatures are set to go up slightly, remaining above freezing tonight, and hitting a high of eight degrees tomorrow.
