OXFORD Bus Company is supporting the Christmas Light Festival by issuing a special travel voucher to children taking part in the parade

About 300 youngsters from Oxford schools and community groups are taking part in the opening event tomorrow.

Thanks to the bus company they have been issued with a voucher entitling one adult and one child to travel to Oxford free between 3pm and 5.30pm tomorrow.

The festival, with a theme of Undiscovered Oxford, starts tomorrow and runs until Sunday.

Ice thrones and light installations will be among the highlights, together with dramatic performances and craft workshops.

Activities will take place at the Castle Quarter, Bonn Square, Gloucester Green and Broad Street.

The travel voucher is valid for all ages and can be used on Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach run services. The child must be accompanied by an adult and have a valid voucher.

Phil Southall, Oxford Bus Company managing director, said: “We are proud to help support this important community event that inspires and engages so many people by helping some of the children who are taking part get to Oxford.

This is a major part of the Oxford calendar and Oxford City Council do the community proud by organising it.”
