THE demolition of the former police station at Thame’s Greyhound Lane has begun.
This site was sold by Thames Valley Police to Churchill Retirement Living under an agreement in 2013 and an initial planning application for retirement homes was refused in 2014.
Permission was eventually granted on appeal in September this year despite objections by Thame Town Council.
Speaking of the construction a council spokesperson said councillors were ‘disappointed’ work was now going ahead.
Churchill is also trying to get permission to convert the former Bellinger's garage in Abingdon's Ock Street into a block of retirement flats.
