AN Oxford homeowner discovered a thief burgling their house in the middle of the night.
The householder in Temple Road, Cowley, said they were disturbed by a noise between 2am and 3am this morning.
They went downstairs to investigate and discovered a white man, about 5ft 5ins and wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket, carrying a torch walking from their living room to the hallway. He left immediately.
The homeowner later discovered that cash had been stolen, and police think the burglar entered through the front door.
In a similar case a resident in Blackbird Leys disturbed a burglar in their home on Wednesday afternoon.
That victim said they heard the would-be thief using their front door at about 2.05pm and went to investigate.
The resident discovered a black man in his mid-twenties about 5ft 11ins tall wearing a white hoodie, who then left immediately.
Anyone with information about either case is asked to call 101.
