A POPULAR beer festival will produce its first charity ale when it returns to Oxford next month.
The Oxford Beer and Cider Festival, which takes place at Oxford Town Hall on November 8-10, will donate proceeds from the charity drink to Oxford hospice Helen & Douglas House.
The event, which is now in its 21st year, will offer 170 real ales and 50 ciders or perries, plus a selection of snacks.
Several Oxfordshire breweries will attend the festival, which is organised by the Oxford branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Beers from across the UK will also be present, including Wriggly Monkey, a new Bicester brewery, Leeds-based Anthology, Hopscotch, from Sheffield; and Twisted Angel, from Beverley, East Yorkshire.
Doors open at 5pm on Thursday, November 8, with the opening day's proceedings running until 11pm.
The event lasts from 11am-11pm on the Friday and 11am-7pm on the Saturday.
Entry costs £5 including glass, with drinks tokens costing £5 a strip.
