SAINSBURY'S is investigating the cause of a foul smell at its newest Oxford city centre branch after a customer complaint.
A shopper, whose Twitter page states he is a member of the clergy at St Aldates Church, said the St Aldates store 'always smells of poo'.
The supermarket tweeted back this evening to apologise, and said the issue was 'currently under investigation' and will be solved as soon as possible.
Hi there Daniel, I've just spoken with a colleague in store who would like to apologise about the smell. He has confirmed that the issue is currently under investigation and will be sorted out ASAP. Becky

The Sainsbury's Local opened in September last year as part of a wider development, including 133 student flats.
Buildings were flattened to make way for the ground floor retail unit and student flats in storeys above.
In November the shop gained the top five-star hygiene rating after inspection from Oxford City Council.
Several Oxford Mail readers have echoed concerns about a bad smell in the shop, with many saying it has been an issue from the beginning.
