BANDS entertained those seeking a place to dry out as a farm's autumnal festival went on despite the weather.

Les Clochards brought their accordion-laced pop tunes to the stage of the Oxford City Farm festival on Saturday.

The long-running Oxford band were one of several to grace the stage at the second edition of the festival, held at the farm's site off Cornwallis Road, Florence Park.

Alongside the live music, children donned their best wet-weather gear to explore the farm's many attractions including meeting the goats and sheep who call it home.

Pumpkins were on sale ready for Halloween and apple pressers were busy turning fruit into juice.

Nearby pub the Jolly Postboys provided the bar and food and drink stalls complemented a programme of activities.

The rapidly developing site offers a slice of the countryside in amongst the hustle and bustle of the city.

Earlier this year the farm launched a new fundraising campaign to encourage people to set up regular donations in order to keep it free for everyone.

It also wants to use the money to run more volunteering days and skills workshops to teach people about how to grow food and care for animals.

Alongside this outreach work, the farm is continuing to build up its resources on site and it was connected to water and electricity supplies in August.

Work is now set to begin on building a toilet block, sheltered outdoor kitchen and temporary office at the site.
