INNOVATIVE plans to turn former public toilets in Oxford city centre into bed and breakfast rooms have been pulled.
The men's toilets in St Giles were shut by the city council in 2008 after officers deemed them unsafe.
They were bought by new owners, who run the Galaxie Hotel in Summertown, in 2014.

They first put in an application to turn the toilets into an office space and that was approved by the city council but never developed.
And the second transformative application was submitted in July but was shelved on September 19, according to Oxford City Council documents.
The toilets, which have recently been cordoned off, are at the southern end of St Giles.
They are opposite Martyrs’ Memorial and across the road from the Randolph Hotel and the Ashmolean Museum.
The most recent application had asked for permission to turn the toilets into 'short let accommodation'.
They would have included the installation of two glass canopies over stair wells leading down to the former facilities. Other railings would also have been restored.
The toilets were first reported in Jackson's Oxford Journal in 1895.
In August, the Oxford Preservation Trust said it was 'apprehensive' about the proposed glass canopies over the stairs, while Oxford Civic Society gave 'cautious approval'.
The project to change the toilets into bedrooms was first discussed with the council in June.
